Don't miss this unique, exhilarating Mountain Bike Relay event. This was the largest MTB event in New Zealand last year with over 3,000 riders.
Individuals, teams of two/three or four/five compete on an 8km, 30 minute circuit over 12 hours from 10.30am to 10.30pm or 6 hours from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Both grades ride the same circuit which has been specifically designed for the event to cater for riders of all ability levels. The track includes fast open park grounds, awesome downhill, pine needle covered forest tracks, challenging single tracks and magnificent scenery including the mighty Waikato River.

The Big One. 100km of riding over a course that is predominantly single track. There is nothing else like it in New Zealand. Now in its third year we have slightly reformatted the event for 2010. Three courses will be offered: 25km, 50km and 100km. Plus a team’s event with a 60km/40km split. Regardless of what course you decide to race one thing is guaranteed: you will be racing in the best mountain bike venue in New Zealand. Forest roads, views and sweet single track set this event off from anything else on the race calendar.

Wattyl Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge, Taupo Saturday 27 November 2010
This year is the second Contact Huka Challenge building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, an off-road event designed specifically for mountain bike riders. It is a non competitive 80km mountain bike ride on a par in time and difficulty with the iconic 160km Solo ride around Lake Taupo. You will find that due to a few changes forced on us in the forest, the course will be slightly longer than last year. The course takes in 80 km’s of Taupo’s most popular mountain bike tracks, most of which is flowing single track.

Santa Cruz Coppermine Epic, Nelson Saturday 19 February 2011
New Zealands premiere All Mountain MTB event. 2 courses cater for all riding ability’s. The Epic, is an all mountain course with a massive climb and descends much of Nelsons best single track. The course explores some fantastic riding trails in a beautiful alpine environment. The Enduro course has less climbing and is not technically challenging but still loops the stunning mineral belt. This course follows one of the newly developed National Cycle Ways and is aimed the recreational rider. Fantastic prizes including $500 cash for the fastest Epic man and woman and a spot prize of a Santa Cruz Heckler.
